Graphite Varnish – Professional Kit for Remote Control and PCB Trace Regeneration

AG TermoPasty Graphite Varnish is an indispensable service agent designed for precise repairs and renovation of consumer and industrial electronics. This product forms a liquid electrically conductive coating that excels wherever it is necessary to restore worn graphite surfaces or repair broken traces in low-current circuits. Thanks to its advanced formula, the agent features excellent adhesion to the substrate and resistance to mechanical damage, guaranteeing the durability of the repair. Once dry, the varnish creates a black, uniform coating with a resistance of approximately 31 Ω (at a layer thickness of 0.1 mm), ensuring stable electrical parameters for the repaired components.

Key Properties and Application: This agent is dedicated to a wide range of repairs in AV service centers and electronic workshops. Its main task is to restore functionality to devices that have stopped working due to worn carbon contacts. Graphite varnish effectively fills the smallest gaps and cavities, and its consistency prevents uncontrolled run-off, allowing for very precise application. Importantly, the product is fully safe for electronic materials and does not react harmfully with them.

The most important applications of the varnish include:

  •  Regeneration of remote controls and calculators: Repair of worn contact pads on printed circuit boards under rubber keypads.

  • Repair of membrane keyboards: Recreating traces in control panels of home appliances and AV equipment.

  • Contact protection: Protecting silver-plated elements against corrosion resulting from direct contact with rubber.

  • Creating traces: Recreating or designing new connections in low-current circuits. 

Instructions for Proper Use: To obtain a durable and fully conductive coating, the application procedure recommended by the manufacturer must be strictly followed. The repair process is intended for professional users.

 Surface Preparation: The repair area must be perfectly clean and dry. Remove remains of old graphite, grease, and dust. 
 
Preparation of the Varnish: Before use, shake the vial very thoroughly to mix the graphite particles. If the varnish seems too thick, add 2-3 drops of solvent (often included in the kit) and mix for about 2 minutes to achieve optimal consistency. 
 
Application: Using the included brush or another precise tool, apply a thin, even layer of varnish to the damaged area.
 
Curing (Key Stage): After applying the varnish, it is necessary to heat it. Place the repaired element under a 100 W light bulb at a distance of about 15 cm for 90 minutes. This process is essential to fully cure the coating and achieve the correct conductivity parameters. After cooling, the element is ready for use.

Storage: The product should be stored in a tightly closed container, in a cool and shaded place, away from heat sources, to maintain its properties throughout the shelf life of 12 months.
