CENUSIL® M 830 A/B – High-Class Silicone for Concrete and Food Molding
CENUSIL® M 830 A/B is a high-grade, two-component RTV-2 silicone rubber that cures via an addition-curing (platinum) system at room temperature. This product features excellent flowability and self-deaeration, allowing for the precise reproduction of even the most complex model details. Once cured, it forms a translucent, flexible rubber with a hardness of 26 Shore A, exhibiting outstanding long-term mechanical stability.
Key Properties and Advantages The most significant advantage of CENUSIL® M 830 is the complete lack of chemical shrinkage during curing, which guarantees perfect dimensional stability of the produced molds. This material has been specifically designed with chemical resistance to the aggressive components of concrete, making it a leading solution in the construction industry. Additionally, the product meets strict food safety standards (compliant with FDA and BfR guidelines), allowing it to be safely used for producing molds intended for food contact. The vulcanizate is characterized by high tear strength (>20 N/mm) and high elasticity (500% elongation at break), facilitating repeated demolding without the risk of damaging the mold.
Versatile Applications Due to its unique combination of physical and chemical parameters, CENUSIL® M 830 is used in demanding production processes:
-
Construction and Architecture:Â Creating durable molds for casting architectural concrete, plaster, and facade elements.
-
Food Industry:Â Production of molds for chocolate, confectionery, and other food products (FDA/BfR compliant).
-
Composite Manufacturing:Â Production of vacuum bags and molds for laminates.
-
General Reproduction:Â Casting of all common reproduction materials due to the high chemical resistance of the mold.
Processing and Instructions for Use The CENUSIL® M 830 system was developed for ease of use. Components A and B are mixed in a convenient 1:1 weight ratio, which eliminates the risk of dosing errors. The pot life (working time) is 60 minutes at 23°C, providing high comfort during the pouring of large elements. The mold can be demolded after approximately 14–16 hours at 23°C. The curing process can be considerably accelerated by the application of heat. Please note that the platinum catalyst is contained in Component A. Due to the nature of the system, Components A and B may only be used together if they have the same batch number. Before use, it is recommended to stir the components thoroughly in their original containers to ensure optimum material flow.
