ELASTOSIL® N 9111 BLACK is an advanced one-component RTV-1 silicone with a neutral, alkoxy curing system, designed for demanding bonding and sealing applications in industry, electronics, and transportation. It cures upon exposure to moisture in the air, forming a durable, elastic joint that maintains stable mechanical and chemical properties over long-term use.

The product is specifically engineered for applications where fire safety is critical. The BLACK version features flame-retardant properties, meeting standards such as UL 94 V-0 and DIN EN 45545-2, commonly applied in the railway industry. This makes it suitable for use in areas with elevated requirements for fire reaction, smoke emission, and gas toxicity.

ELASTOSIL® N 9111 BLACK exhibits excellent adhesion to a wide range of substrates, including metals, glass, ceramics, and selected plastics, often without the need for a primer. Its thixotropic, non-sagging consistency enables precise application on vertical surfaces and complex geometries, which is especially important in series production and automated applications, including FIPG (Formed-In-Place-Gasket).

The silicone maintains elasticity and sealing performance over a wide temperature range from –45°C to +180°C, effectively compensating for vibrations, stresses, and thermal expansion differences between joined materials. The neutral curing system minimizes the risk of corrosion on sensitive components, making it safe for use near electronics, electrical parts, and precision mechanical assemblies. Excellent dielectric properties further enhance its functionality in technical applications.
