Description

ELASTOSIL® RT 675 A/B is a two-component, addition-curing RTV-2 silicone designed for demanding potting and thermal management applications in electronics and the energy industry. When mixed at a 1:1 ratio, the product forms a free-flowing, homogeneous compound which, after curing, provides very high hardness, mechanical stability, and efficient heat dissipation from electronic components.

Thanks to its addition-curing mechanism, the silicone does not release any by-products during curing, resulting in a high-purity process, stable electrical parameters, and excellent consistency of properties. RT 675 A/B has been developed for applications where the combination of thermal conductivity, electrical insulation, and temperature resistance is critical.

Technical properties:
ELASTOSIL® RT 675 A/B is a material with very high final hardness (approx. 80 Shore A), distinguishing it from conventional potting silicones. After curing, it forms a dense, stable silicone elastomer resistant to deformation, vibration, and long-term mechanical loads.

A key feature of the material is its increased thermal conductivity, enabling effective heat dissipation from components generating high power losses. At the same time, the silicone maintains very good dielectric properties, high volume resistivity, and stable electrical permittivity.

The material is characterized by excellent thermal resistance, allowing it to operate over a wide temperature range without loss of mechanical or electrical properties. The long pot life facilitates application in industrial processes, including large-volume potting operations.

Applications:
ELASTOSIL® RT 675 A/B has been developed for potting and encapsulation of electronic components where thermal management and mechanical durability are of critical importance. Typical application areas include:

  • potting of high power-density electronic modules

  • Thermal Interface Material (TIM) applications

  • battery systems and energy storage modules

  • power electronics components, converters, and power supplies

  • components exposed to vibration, shock, and fluctuating temperature conditions

Thanks to its free-flowing characteristics, the material effectively fills gaps and spaces between components while ensuring good thermal contact and durable mechanical protection. Vacuum application is recommended to eliminate air bubbles in critical applications.

It combines excellent heat dissipation, electrical insulation, and mechanical stability, providing long-term reliability for protected components.
