Description
WACKER® AK 35 – Dielectric, Hydraulic, and Lubricating Fluid
Key Physicochemical Properties The product stands out for the minimal change in its physical properties over a broad temperature range. It is characterized by high heat resistance and a high flash point exceeding $205^{\circ}C$. WACKER® AK 35 is highly hydrophobic (water-repellent) , and its surface tension is very low (0.021 N/m), providing high surface activity and excellent wetting properties. From a chemical standpoint, the fluid is highly unreactive (inert), which guarantees safety in contact with various structural materials. Furthermore, this oil possesses good dielectric properties, allowing for its use in advanced electrical engineering.
Versatile Industrial Applications Thanks to its unique property profile, WACKER® AK 35 is used across many industrial sectors as:
-
Release agent: Facilitates the removal of components from molds in plastic and rubber processing.
-
Hydraulic fluid: Used in precision damping systems and actuators.
-
Lubricant: Provides excellent slip for plastics and elastomers.
-
Liquid dielectric: Utilized as an insulator in electrical and electronic equipment.
-
Heat-transfer oil: Serves as a medium for heat transfer in heating or cooling systems.
-
Antifoam and water-repellent agent: Effectively prevents foam formation and imparts waterproof properties.
Processing and Solubility WACKER® AK 35 is a non-polar liquid, meaning it is immiscible with water or short-chain alcohols. However, it is soluble in any proportion in aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons, ethers, esters, ketones, and higher alcohols. Importantly for users, WACKER® AK silicone fluids of different viscosities are miscible with each other in any ratio, allowing the standard product's viscosity to be altered to suit individual process needs.
