In the world of modern industry, precision, reliability, and durability are not convenient extras—they are absolute fundamentals. Devices are operating more intensively, at higher temperatures, in smaller housings, and under heavier loads. In such conditions, what is seemingly invisible—seals, potting compounds, protective coatings—determines the lifespan of the entire system. This is why for decades engineers and manufacturers in the electronics, energy, automotive, and industrial sectors have relied on WACKER ELASTOSIL silicones.

These are not ordinary silicones. ELASTOSIL is a family of specialized RTV-1 and RTV-2 silicones, developed to meet challenges where other materials would fail from the start. From flexible construction sealants, to transparent insulating coatings, to certified high-performance potting compounds—the common denominator is stability, safety, and exceptional durability.

RTV-1: reliable sealing, coatings, and assembly — when adhesion and resistance matter

High-quality one-component silicones are the foundation of many technical applications. WACKER has refined them over the years to provide the perfect combination of durability, resistance, and ease of application.

Products such as E41, E43, E14, and N2010 represent the full spectrum of RTV-1 capabilities:

  • Excellent adhesion to glass, metal, ceramics, and even cured silicones (which is exceptional in this category),

  • High thermal resistance, often from –45°C to +180°C or higher,

  • Resistance to moisture, UV, weathering, and aging,

  • Flexibility after curing, compensating for material movement and vibrations.

RTV-1 silicones are chosen wherever durable, reliable, and aesthetically pleasing sealing is required. LED lighting, household appliances, technical equipment, electronic enclosures, LED strips, automation systems, and structural assembly—these are areas where ELASTOSIL flexible coatings and adhesives are recognized as premium products.

RTV-2: advanced protection for electronics and molding — from soft elastomers to certified railway systems

The second group, two-component RTV-2 silicones, is designed for more demanding processes: electronics potting, encapsulation, mold-making, technical casting, and high-reliability system protection.

Here, products such as RT607, RT622, RT602, RT625, and others offer highly diverse properties:

  • RT607 — a hard elastomer with excellent thermal resistance and self-extinguishing properties, compliant with EN 45545-2 HL1/2/3, used in railway and energy applications,

  • RT622 — a soft, flexible potting compound with outstanding vibration protection and minimal shrinkage, ideal for sensitive electronics,

  • RT602 — a low-viscosity precision silicone that ensures stability at high temperatures,

  • RT625 — a soft elastomer (Shore A 25) with exceptional tear resistance and perfect detail reproduction for technical molds.

WACKER develops its RTV-2 silicones to be:

  • Thermally resistant above 180°C,

  • Highly electrically insulating,

  • Bubble-free thanks to precise rheology,
